10. Account Deletion

10.1 Self-Service Account Deletion

Registered users may initiate account deletion through the account settings in the Haul or Haul Driver mobile application. The app may direct the user to a secure Haul account deletion webpage to verify the request and complete the process.

The account deletion process is available to customers, drivers, dispatchers, company owners, and other registered users.

Haulwerk may require reasonable verification using information or an authentication method already associated with the account. For example, we may send a confirmation code or link to the email address or telephone number associated with the account. This verification does not require the user to create a new account or provide new contact information.

After the user verifies and confirms the request, deletion of the live account is initiated immediately and is intended to be final. Active sessions and authentication tokens may be revoked as part of the deletion process.

If a user cannot complete the automated deletion process, including because of an active booking, unresolved transaction, security concern, or technical issue, the user may contact support@haulwerk.com.

10.2 Information Deleted From Live Systems

Following confirmation of an account deletion request, Haulwerk deletes or removes from its live account systems personal information associated with the account, which may include:

Deletion from live systems does not require Haulwerk to delete information that must or may lawfully be retained for financial, tax, audit, fraud-prevention, safety, insurance, dispute-resolution, legal, regulatory, or compliance purposes.

These records may be retained for financial auditing, tax and accounting compliance, payment processor requirements, regulatory obligations, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and enforcement of agreements.

Where reasonably practicable, direct personal identifiers may be removed or replaced with a pseudonymous internal reference. Any such reference is retained for audit, legal, and compliance purposes and is not used for marketing or commercial targeting after deletion.

Job and Booking Records

Haulwerk may retain job and booking records because they form part of the operational history of the Services and may be needed for dispute resolution, insurance claims, safety investigations, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or operational auditing.

Where reasonably practicable, personal contact fields associated with the deleted account may be anonymized or replaced with placeholder values. Operational information such as job type, location, timing, scope, status, outcome, payment status, provider assignment, and related history may be preserved.

Legal, Fraud, Safety, and Compliance Records

Haulwerk may retain records reasonably necessary to investigate, establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; prevent fraud; respond to disputes or chargebacks; cooperate with law enforcement, regulators, insurers, payment processors, auditors, or courts; protect platform integrity; or comply with legal and contractual obligations.

10.4 Secure Internal Archive

Immediately before or as part of account deletion, Haulwerk may create an encrypted snapshot of certain account information, such as the user's profile, company memberships, and account preferences.

This archive is stored in a private, access-controlled environment and is not part of the live application or user-facing account system.

Haulwerk may retain this secure internal archive for up to seven (7) years following account deletion for legal compliance, fraud prevention, chargeback disputes, regulatory inquiries, legal proceedings, safety investigations, and related compliance purposes.

The archive is not used for commercial, marketing, advertising, recommendation, personalization, or routine operational purposes. Access is restricted to authorized legal, compliance, security, or executive personnel and may be permitted only through an authorized internal legal or compliance process.
